Today is Vesak Day. Vesak is an annual holiday observed traditionally by practicingBuddhists in many Asiancountries likeNepal, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, and Taiwan. Sometimes informally called "Buddha's birthday". I went to Telok Blangah area to celebrate this festival with my relatives and their friends. In fig1, there are many statues of buddhas mainly from Thailand were placed on the alter for praying purposes. Many devotees are present for the vesak day celebrations. Thailand Monks are also invited by the organisers to carry out the praying ceremony. In fig2,it is a specially designed flower pot for offering purposes which i feel quite unqiue(Not available in singapore, imported from Thailand).
